| I have been playing poker seriously now for about 5 years I would say. I started playing a lot my freshman year of college on-line. I was always intrigued with gambling at a young age. With that being said gambling was not always fun for me as I did loose my bank account at the age of 17 betting on sports. I quickly learned my lesson though from that and do not gamble on sports games anymore up playing all the different card games with my family( 7 card stud, rummy, 5 card poker, etc). Just like many others I first started getting interested in Texas hold em when they starting airing the wsop on espn back in 03 I believe. Many kids in my town started to take a big interest in it as well and we played many tournaments a week for about a good two years I would say. This was in my junior year of high school and I remember playing almost five tournaments a week till I graduated high school two years later. I was immediately hooked with it and was one of the better players in my town. I did though not really understand the game truly as I didn't understand that you could bluff... I knew you could bet with nothing but didn't really like to do that lol. I was always very tight and people laughed at me because I would hold onto my very last chip until I did not have a choice. They still joke with me about it to this day because they find it funny and know that I do make good amount of money playing on-line now. With that being said I did dabble on-line while I was in high school making first union bank transfers for about 20 bucks a time lol. I first played on party poker while it was legal for US players.(thanks government much appreciated I never won on-line because I was unable to put a good amount of money on-line while I was in high school. Then when I went to college my room-mate also was very interested in poker and played on-line at partypoker as well. This is when I finally started playing regularly on-line He mostly dabbled with sngs actually, but I enjoyed playing cash games primarily 25 50(cents lol) 50 1blinds. It was never consistent for me as I won sometimes, and lost sometimes. I actually still owed a pal about 800 bucks for a debt form sports betting that he spotted me and would laugh when he reads this take took me about 3 years to pay that I finally did from playing on-line I was still one of those people that thought on-line poker was rigged as I took all my money off of it and din't really play on-line that much after it. It wasn't rigged it was just because I was not a good player that I finally would realize later on. After the first semester though he left and I had another room-mate who was also interested and I was back playing on-line again but was still not a consistent winning player. It actually took me about two years to finally realize what game I enjoyed playing and could beat regularly. It was the single table sng games. I first started to play two at a time.. Then ventured off to playing 4. Then I finally was able to do 9 yes 9 on a 18in laptop that I used to play at the time on. Each table was squashed into a little part on my screen but I realized that I was able to beat these games and started networking with others players and discussed different poker related topics. Even after beating these single table toruneys for about 3 months consistently I was not sold on them and decided to venture off to head sup cash games because a good buddy of mine friend from college made a killing from heads up cash on-line With that begin said in less then two weeks I lost 99 percent of my bankroll and was only left with no lie about 200 dollars. I finally decided that I had to go with what works and only played single table 6 max tourneys on pokerstars that I was able to rebuild my bankroll. So I do know how it is to start with nothing make money loose it all and now finally be able to beat a game consistently. It takes much work, practice, homework and self discipline. As a poker player you have to go with what works best for you as a person.(Your strength) Last January I bought myself a desktop computer, a 20 in monitor and a 22in one and have never looked back. I still venture back to cash games once in a while but need to realize and I finally have that I am not a cash game player. It only took me about a few wsop main event buy ins to finally realize that I'm not but I'm glad I did. Now I can be found on pokerstars under the name of dombomain33 usually 10 to 12 tabling sng 6 max tables from 50 to 121 dollar buyins. | | | | | SitnGoGrinders What are your ambitions? | | | | | I would love to one day final table a live wsop event. If that does not happen it is no big deal though. To me that is just the holidays of poker and to win a tournament with a field that is so tough much luck needs to be on your side. I feel that I am not a lucky person and enjoy the fact that I can earn and provide for myself by just winning on-line single table tournaments consistently. With living in America and not knowing what is going to happen with on-line poker because of the different laws I will most likely become a math teacher in September. I am graduating finally in may and will most likely venture off into that occupation because the risk of on-line poker being totally banned from America is to great from being unemployed and having nothing to do for a year. On the other hand though If I had the opportunity I might move out of the states and settle down in a different country I would just like to have a few room-mates that I could live with that would be doing the same thing as me. I need at least one person to communicate with daily or I think I would go insane. If you interested and wanna do the same let me know lol I would love to leave America for a few years lol.
| | | | | SitnGoGrinders What made you specilaize in the area that you have? | | | | | I specialize in the single table 6 max tourneys non turbos. With the buy in levels mostly consisting of 50, 76 and the 121 dollar ones. I do table select the 325s but to find a game that is soft is to tough and it is just not profitable to play against 3 regulars in a 6 max tourney. I also agree with fultip777 that playing non turbos give you the opportunity to play more against your opponents then do turbos which is a continuous push fold poker once the blinds hit a certain a level. I like being able to play post flops which is why I do not play turbos because I feel that I can read opponents well. I can play up to 12 at a time so to me it is not affecting my hourly rate by not playing turbo tournaments as these reg tourney games do tend to fill up pretty swiftly.
| | | | SitnGoGrinders How much do you expect to earn by playing professionally? | | | | | The IRS might take a look at this so I will just go with the answer of hopefully okay lol

| am 23 yrs old from Secaucus New Jersey. I am finally in my last semester of college in pursuit of a degree in math education. I love to party and travel. I love college sports football and basketball. I love to eat mostly Italian food but now I love sushi. I am in love with spicy tuna crunch rolls and spicy mayo. I cant get enough of it right now and find myself eating it three times a week. I use to love working out regularly 5 days a week but fitting in school, poker, and social life makes it hard to find time to get into the gym. This is not good as I am becoming a pudgeballl, but tell myself that I am going to finally get back into shape every Monday. I wish I had more time to only play poker, but I feel that obtaining my degree is very important. I love competition and I think that is why I love the game of poker. I also love going to Atlantic city so if you ever wanna go just let me know. I don't even go down to gamble I go just for the nightlife. As I said I love to travel and I am thinking about venturing off to Europe this summer(Amsterdam), Costa Rica and Vegas baby. Many of my friends do not have money so it is hard to find people to go. If you wanna join let me know I would love to go on a vacation with new energized people.
